The Contract Signal — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

The Contract Signal is operated by Leonid Prilutskiy, based in the United States (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you visit shop.thecontractsignal.com, purchase or download our digital products, including the Free Preview, or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, the “Services”).

We are responsible for the personal information we process for our own activities described in this policy. Shopify hosts our store and also processes certain personal information independently, as explained in Section 5.

You can contact us at leonid.prilutskiy@hey.com.

2. Personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with the Services, we collect or process the following categories of personal information:

  • Contact information: your name, email address, billing address, and any telephone number or organization details you provide.
  • Order and payment information: products ordered, order dates, amounts paid, payment status, payment method, transaction identifiers, and applicable taxes. Shopify and payment providers process payment-card information; we do not receive or store your full payment-card details.
  • Account information: account identifiers, preferences, and settings when you use customer-account features.
  • License information: information identifying licensed users and records relevant to administering product licenses. An organizational purchaser may provide a licensed user’s name and email address.
  • Download activity: records generated by our digital delivery service when download links are accessed, such as download counts and timestamps, to the extent recorded by that service.
  • Communications: information included in emails, contact-form submissions, support requests, or other correspondence.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, cookie identifiers, pages and products viewed, cart activity, and other interactions with the Services.
  • Privacy and communication preferences: marketing subscriptions, consent records, unsubscribe requests, and other privacy choices.

We receive information directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, and from Shopify and other providers supporting the Services. We may also receive information from an organization purchasing a license on your behalf.

3. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Process orders and payments, calculate taxes, deliver digital products, and send transaction-related messages.
  • Administer customer accounts and remember preferences.
  • Identify licensed users, administer product licenses, and manage applicable Free Preview evaluation periods.
  • Answer questions, troubleshoot download or access problems, and provide support.
  • Understand how visitors use the Services and improve our store and products.
  • Support personalization, analytics, and relevant advertising through enabled Shopify services, subject to applicable consent requirements and privacy choices.
  • Send promotional emails when you have opted in.
  • Detect and address fraud, unauthorized access, misuse, and security problems.
  • Maintain business records and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and enforce applicable agreements.

Purchasing a product or downloading the Free Preview does not, by itself, subscribe you to promotional emails.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in those messages or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not stop necessary order, delivery, support, or license-related communications.

Email subscription choices are separate from the cookie and advertising-related privacy choices described below.

4. Legal bases where applicable

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:

  • Contractual necessity: to process orders, deliver products, and perform our obligations under agreements with you.
  • Legal obligations: to maintain required records, comply with tax requirements, and respond to legally binding requests.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate and secure the Services, answer inquiries, administer organizational licenses, prevent misuse, improve our products, and protect legal rights, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Consent: to send opt-in promotional emails and use cookies or conduct other processing where consent is required.

When an organization purchases a license for you, we may process your licensed-user information in our legitimate interests in fulfilling that purchase and administering the license.

You may withdraw consent at any time through the relevant privacy controls, an email unsubscribe link, or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Shopify explains the legal bases for its independent processing in its own privacy policies.

5. Shopify, Network Intelligence, and other recipients

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes information about your access to and use of the Services to support store operation, checkout, payments, security, and other platform functions.

Shopify Network Intelligence

We use Shopify Network Intelligence, which enables enhanced services informed by your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify. These services support functions such as personalization, analytics, service improvements, and relevant advertising.

To provide these services, information about your interactions with our store is shared with Shopify and relevant third parties, which may be located outside your country. For certain enhanced-service activities, Shopify processes personal information independently and is responsible for responding to requests concerning that processing.

For information about Shopify’s practices, please review the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. You can learn about and exercise relevant choices through Shopify’s Privacy Portal.

Certain advertising-related disclosures and uses may constitute a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under applicable privacy laws. You can exercise applicable opt-out rights through our Your Privacy Choices page.

Other recipients

We also disclose personal information as reasonably necessary to:

  • Payment providers, to process payments and address fraud or transaction issues.
  • Digital delivery providers, to deliver files and manage download access.
  • Technology and communications providers, to support hosting, email, customer support, and other store operations.
  • Analytics and advertising partners, through enabled services and subject to applicable privacy choices.
  • Professional advisers, including accountants and legal advisers.
  • Authorities and other relevant parties, where required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, protect rights, or respond to legal proceedings.
  • Parties involved in a business transfer, if necessary in connection with a proposed or completed sale, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.

We may also disclose information when you direct us to do so or provide the relevant consent.

6. Cookies and privacy choices

The Services use cookies and similar technologies to maintain cart and checkout functions, remember preferences, and support security. Depending on the services enabled and your choices, these technologies may also support analytics, personalization, and advertising.

Where consent is required, nonessential cookies and similar technologies are used subject to that consent. You can use the store’s cookie banner and available cookie-preference controls to review or change your choices.

You may also:

  • Visit our Your Privacy Choices page to exercise applicable rights concerning sales, sharing, or targeted advertising.
  • Visit Shopify’s Privacy Portal for choices relating to Shopify’s independent processing.
  • Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Doing so may affect store functionality and may not control every form of data processing.

Where applicable law requires it, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, for the processing they cover. The scope of an opt-out may depend on whether the signal can be associated with your browser, device, or account.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, taking account of applicable legal requirements.

  • Order, billing, and tax records are retained to meet legal and accounting obligations and address transaction issues.
  • License and download records are retained as reasonably necessary to administer licenses, resolve access problems, and address disputes.
  • Account information is retained as needed to provide account features and meet related obligations.
  • Support correspondence is retained according to the nature of the inquiry and related business or legal needs.
  • Marketing preference records may be retained to document consent and honor unsubscribe requests.

When determining retention periods, we consider the purpose of collection, the duration of our relationship with you, legal requirements, security needs, and whether records are needed to resolve disputes or protect legal rights.

Shopify and other providers may apply separate retention practices to information they process independently.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Access or receive a copy of your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion.
  • Receive information in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent.
  • Opt out of qualifying sales, sharing, or targeted advertising.
  • Appeal a decision about a privacy request.

To submit a request, email leonid.prilutskiy@hey.com. For advertising-related opt-outs, you may also use our Your Privacy Choices page.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Where applicable law permits an authorized agent to act for you, we may request evidence of the agent’s authority and any necessary identity verification.

We respond within the period required by applicable law. Some requests are subject to exceptions, including where information must be retained for legal compliance or legal claims. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If you wish to appeal a decision or raise a complaint, contact us at the email address above. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

For information Shopify processes independently, you can submit requests through Shopify’s Privacy Portal.

9. International processing

We operate from the United States. Shopify and other providers may store or process personal information in the United States and other countries, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards, including European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and relevant UK mechanisms where appropriate.

You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to transfers of your personal information.

10. Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the personal information we process and the operation of the Services, including protections provided by Shopify and other service providers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please do not send full payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information through contact forms or email.

11. Third-party websites and services

The Services may link to websites or services operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review those policies before providing personal information.

12. Children

The Services are intended for professional audiences and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 or knowingly sell or share their personal information for targeted advertising.

If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Services, our practices, or applicable requirements. The “Last updated” date identifies the latest revision.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for relevant changes.
